The Brief

Antidote was engaged by Zayo Europe to build its brand reputation across the continent ahead of its official separation from Zayo Group in the summer of 2024.
While Zayo Group had a strong corporate reputation globally, specifically in its home market in North America, it flew a little under the radar in Europe, despite being a market leader. Antidote’s brief was to engage with the strategically important telecoms media and raise the profile of Zayo Europe’s senior leaders.

Activity

Zayo Europe’s reputation in Europe was heavily dependent on its brand connections to its sister company in North America. However, given its market position in Europe and the expertise of its leadership team, there was a significant opportunity for Antidote to elevate this profile.

Aligning with the business strategy of delivering locally on a global scale, we highlighted Zayo Europe’s unique ability to connect local communities at scale, such as through its partnerships with B4RN - Broadband for the Rural North, and Stellium Data Centres.

Alongside our work showcasing the power and scale of Zayo Europe’s network infrastructure, we have built thought leadership campaigns for several of its senior spokespeople, taking up influential media positions on the important stories of the day. This is particularly true around the release of the annual Zayo DDoS report, which allows us to present Zayo’s cybersecurity credentials and discuss the ever-changing threat landscape in top-tier tech and telecoms outlets, including ITPro and Telecoms.com.

Our thought leadership campaigns have also covered subsea cables, network infrastructure sabotage, quantum key decryption and the impact of upcoming EU regulation.

Impact

Zayo Europe became fully independent from its North American sister business in May 2024, with coverage of the announcement and the appointment of CEO, Colman Deegan, in every major industry trade publication, including Capacity Media and ISP Review.

Antidote has built a deep bench of Zayo Europe spokespeople, each experts in their specialist fields, with industry media now reaching out proactively for comments and opportunities on telecoms and networking stories in the news.
